Ahmedabad, March 3 (NationPress) The second edition of the Ahmedabad Open golf championships is set to kick off on Tuesday, showcasing renowned players such as Shaurya Bhattacharya, the Chhattisgarh Open champion, Om Prakash Chouhan, Manu Gandas, Udayan Mane, an Olympian, Rashid Khan, Karandeep Kochhar, and Sachin Baisoya.

This tournament, sanctioned by the Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI), will take place at the Kensville Golf & Country Club, with the concluding round scheduled for March 7. The event boasts a prize pool of INR 1 crore, followed by a Pro-Am on March 8.

Featuring some of the finest Indian professionals, including Chikkarangappa S, the tournament also welcomes Gujarat-based players like Varun Parikh, Dhruv Suri, Arshpreet Thind, and Aditya Raj Kumar Chauhan. The amateur from Gujarat participating is Islam Khan.

The competition will also see international players such as Jamal Hossain, Badal Hossain, Md Akbar Hossain, and Md Somrat Sikdar from Bangladesh, N. Thangaraja and K. Prabagaran from Sri Lanka, Koichiro Sato and Dominic Piccirillo from America, Sukra Bahadur Rai and Subash Tamang from Nepal, Michele Ortolani and Federico Zucchetti from Italy, Stepan Danek from the Czech Republic, and Joshua Seale from Uganda.

As one of India’s premier championship venues, Kensville has previously hosted the prestigious European Challenge Tour’s Gujarat Kensville Challenge for three consecutive years from 2011 to 2013.
