Ahmedabad, Feb 18 (NationPress) The Gujarat Open Golf Championship 2025 officially commenced at Glade One Golf Resort & Club on Tuesday and is scheduled to continue until February 21.
This tournament boasts a prize purse of Rs 1 crore and will be contested over a total of 54 holes. A total of 126 players are competing, including 123 professionals and three amateurs. The first two rounds will consist of nine holes each, with a cut after 18 holes. The final two rounds will each encompass 18 holes.
Among the distinguished Indian professionals participating are Yuvraj Sandhu, Rashid Khan, defending champion Abhinav Lohan, Rahil Gangjee, Gaurav Pratap Singh, former Gujarat Open champions Karandeep Kochhar and Chikkarangappa, along with PGTI Qualifying School Winner Shubham Narain, and former Glade One victors Manu Gandas and Om Prakash Chouhan.
The international lineup includes prominent players such as Jamal Hossain from Bangladesh (a former champion at Glade One), Badal Hossain and Md Akbar Hossain, along with N Thangaraja and K Prabagaran from Sri Lanka; Stepan Danek from the Czech Republic, Federico Zucchetti from Italy; Koichiro Sato and Dominic Piccirillo from the USA; and Sukra Bahadur Rai and Subash Tamang from Nepal.
The local competitors are spearheaded by Gujarat-based professionals Varun Parikh, Anshul Patel, Jay Pandya, Aditya Raj Kumar Chauhan from Glade One, and Arshpreet Thind, the former GM of Glade One. The local amateur representation includes Islam Khan, Krish Patel, and Lt. Col. Shakti Singh.
