Galle Marvels Secure Dominant Victory Over Kandy Bolts in Lanka T10 Super League

Kandy, Dec 11 (NationPress) The Galle Marvels achieved a convincing victory against the Kandy Bolts, winning by seven wickets in the Lanka T10 Super League held at Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. Tasked with a target of 101 runs, the Marvels reached their goal in the 8th over. Despite a solid start, Galle encountered a few quick dismissals, finding themselves at 39/3 when Andre Fletcher and Shakib Al Hasan stepped in to stabilize the innings.
The duo formed an impressive, unbeaten partnership of 63 runs for the fourth wicket. Fletcher scored a remarkable 41 not out off 21 balls, featuring four sixes and three fours, while Shakib contributed 20 not out off just 8 balls, guiding the team to victory.
Earlier on, the Kandy Bolts had a shaky start to their innings, losing two wickets for just five runs. However, Dinesh Chandimal, the Sri Lankan wicketkeeper-batter, played a stellar role and propelled the team to 100/5 in their allotted 10 overs. Chandimal scored a fantastic 66 runs off 25 balls before being dismissed by Jeffrey Vandersay.
The highlight for Galle Marvels was Binura Fernando, who impressed with his economical bowling, finishing with figures of 3-9 in two overs, earning him the title of Player of the Match.
Rain Disrupts Second Match
In the second clash, rain caused disruptions, leading to the cancellation of the match between the Nuwara Eliya Kings and Colombo Jaguars. Before the rain intervened, the Nuwara Eliya Kings had scored 79/1 in 6 overs, with opener Avishka Fernando remaining unbeaten at 50 off 18.
