Kandy, Dec 15 (NationPress) The Galle Marvels claimed a significant 7-wicket victory over the Colombo Jaguars during the Lanka T10 Super League at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium, propelled by the exceptional performance of pacer Zahoor Khan, who recorded a hattrick and concluded with a four-wicket haul.

The Jaguars had a rough beginning, losing wickets early and managing to score only 82/9 in their 10 overs. Najibullah Zadran was the highest scorer with 26 runs off 15 balls, while opener Dan Lawrence contributed 22 runs off 16 balls.

Zahoor Khan finished his spell with impressive bowling figures of 4/15 in just 2 overs. Maheesh Theekshana and Jeffrey Vandersay each took two wickets for the Marvels.

In response, the Galle team started their chase energetically, with openers Niroshan Dickwella and Alex Hales forming a partnership of 48 runs in just 4.2 overs. Hales scored 38 off 18 balls before being dismissed, while Dickwella contributed 20 off 12. Although the team lost three wickets in quick succession, Shakib Al Hasan and Chamindu Wickramasinghe guided the team to victory in the 8th over.

The Jaffna Titans also had a commanding win against the Nuwara Eliya Kings, defeating them by 53 runs to maintain their strong performance in the tournament. The Titans posted an impressive total of 153/4 in 10 overs, thanks to Tom Abell's explosive 59 runs off 24 balls and Charith Asalanka's quickfire 33 off 17. Additionally, captain David Wiese contributed an unbeaten 14 off 6 balls, while Dwaine Pretorius added 18 not out off just 5 deliveries.

Later, the Jaffna bowlers dismantled the Kings' batting lineup, dismissing them for just 12/5 at one stage, and ultimately restricting them to 100/8. Chamika Karunaratne stood out for the Kings with a valiant 58 not out off 26 balls, but it was insufficient to secure a win for his team.

Pramod Madushan was outstanding with the ball, claiming three wickets for just eight runs, while Nuwan Thushara and Dunith Wellalage each took two wickets.
