IPL 2026: Prasidh Krishna Praises Bowling Unit for GT's Revival
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Ahmedabad, April 20 (NationPress) Pacer Prasidh Krishna of the Gujarat Titans (GT) has acknowledged the exceptional performance of the bowling unit as they make a remarkable recovery in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026. After a challenging start, the team is set to face the five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Monday.
After suffering defeats in their first two matches, GT has gained momentum with three consecutive wins. The bowling squad, which was a pivotal strength last season, has regained its form and is now performing effectively throughout all stages of the game. Krishna is once again among the top wicket-takers, while Rashid Khan has been remarkable in the middle overs, and both Siraj and Rabada are displaying good form.
“I truly attribute our turnaround to the bowling unit we possess. Each player is performing well, applying pressure, which allows me to come in and take wickets,” he shared with broadcasters before the match.
The right-arm pacer, who has taken 11 wickets thus far, dismissed any tactical reasons for not claiming wickets in the middle overs.
“It’s merely coincidental. There’s no specific tactic when I bowl at that time. As I mentioned, my fellow bowlers are generating enough pressure for false shots, and I’m simply capitalizing on those opportunities,” he explained.
Prasidh emphasized the significance of preparation and teamwork behind the scenes, highlighting that open communication and strategic planning are crucial for successful execution on the field.
“A lot of effort goes into our practice sessions. We engage in numerous discussions with teammates and coaches. A significant amount of preparation is essential before stepping onto the field,” he added.
He further elaborated on the synergy among teammates during games, which has contributed to their successful comeback.
“The communication between us is vital. When I’m bowling and he’s nearby, we talk, devise plans, and trust one another to make decisions on the spot. Once we have a plan, it’s all about executing that delivery,” he concluded.
