Yuva Kabaddi Series: Himalayan Tahrs Stay Undefeated; Ranchi Rangers Face Ongoing Struggles

Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu), Dec 16 (NationPress) The Himalayan Tahrs and Ranchi Rangers experienced differing fates as the 11th season of the Yuva Kabaddi Series Division 3 continued its exciting journey at the Karpagam Academy of Higher Education here on Monday. Day 3 showcased a combination of tense contests and one-sided games.

The day commenced with the Himalayan Tahrs preserving their unbeaten record by decisively overcoming the Chambal Challengers with a score of 49-25. Mithun Singh made a significant impact off the bench, notching up 11 points, which included four raid points and seven tackle points.

Shivansh Thakur contributed six tackle points to strengthen the team’s defense. Despite Ajay Maravi from the Challengers securing another Super 10, the lack of backing from his teammates resulted in their second consecutive loss in the tournament.

In the second match, the Vasco Vipers displayed dominance by defeating the Ladakh Wolves with a commanding scoreline of 57-27. Prince was exceptional with an impressive tally of 18 raid points, while Gaurav excelled in defense, contributing seven tackle points. Sonu Azad for the Wolves managed a Super 10 with 16 raid points, yet the team’s weak defense made them susceptible, handing the Vipers a well-deserved victory.

The third match was fiercely contested, with the Indore Invincibles narrowly defeating the Tadoba Tigers 44-41. The Invincibles displayed solid teamwork, with Sachin earning a Super 10 and noteworthy contributions from Ritik and Anil Gurjar. Their defense was pivotal in securing the win despite the Tigers’ spirited comeback. For the Tigers, Abhishek Nimbalkar spearheaded the effort with a Super 10, but conceding an extra all-out ultimately cost them the match.

In the fourth match, the Konark Kings dealt the Ranchi Rangers their third straight loss with a resounding 58-24 victory. Rajesh Dehury and Niroj Kumar excelled for the Kings, both achieving Super 10s while also contributing defensively. Kunal Bhoi was particularly impressive in defense, accumulating nine tackle points. The Rangers continued to struggle, with substitute Rahul Gope leading their scoring with just seven raid points.

The day concluded with a dramatic finish as the Dehradun Dynamos narrowly defeated the Indore Invincibles 36-34 in a thrilling contest. Ajay Kumar shone with a crucial Super 10, while Harbir Singh and Amandeep Kajal secured High 5s to keep their team in the lead. The Invincibles mounted a strong comeback after trailing early, with Sameer Khan leading their raiding efforts with nine points. However, lapses in defense proved detrimental, allowing the Dynamos to clinch the win by a mere two points.

Following Day 3, the Himalayan Tahrs topped the table with a perfect record of three wins from three matches, solidifying their status as the team to beat. The Tadoba Tigers and Indore Invincibles follow closely with two wins each, while the Ranchi Rangers remain winless at the bottom of the standings. The Ladakh Wolves, with two losses and a tie, are positioned just above Ranchi in the table.
