New Delhi, March 24 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday called on state governments to understand that, irrespective of the crisis's intensity, it is our shared duty to uphold India's swift growth.

He emphasized that this moment also offers a considerable opportunity for state governments and acts as a critical challenge for Team India.

While addressing the Rajya Sabha regarding the changing scenario in West Asia, the Prime Minister stated, "In the forthcoming times, this crisis will serve as a significant challenge for our nation. To tackle this issue, the collaboration of all states is crucial. Hence, through this House, I appeal to all state governments to join hands."

Pointing out the unequal effects of crises on the vulnerable, he remarked, "During hardships, the underprivileged, laborers, and migrant workers suffer the most. Therefore, we must ensure that the benefits of the PM Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana are delivered promptly. It is vital to take proactive measures to alleviate the challenges faced by migrant workers. Establishing special systems to monitor these situations would be greatly beneficial for state governments."

The Prime Minister also raised alarms about black marketing and hoarding, urging states to be vigilant and respond swiftly to any reports of such activities.

Advocating for a united front, he underscored the necessity for collective action under the ethos of "Team India" to maintain economic growth and navigate global uncertainties.

"I want to make an additional request to all state governments. No matter the magnitude of the crisis, it is our shared duty to sustain India's rapid growth. We need to continue taking all essential measures and implement reforms without delay. This moment also represents a great opportunity for state governments — and it is a significant test for Team India," he stated.

Reflecting on the country’s response during the Covid pandemic, PM Modi noted that the Centre and state governments together showcased an exemplary model of crisis management.

"Despite varying political affiliations, testing, vaccination, and the distribution of essential items were managed through the efforts of Team India. We must persist in working with that same spirit. With the collaborative efforts of all state and central governments, our nation will effectively confront this serious global crisis," he asserted.

Stressing that the current crisis is unique and evolving, the Prime Minister observed, "This crisis is different, and solutions are being formulated in new ways. We must confront every challenge with patience, restraint, and a composed mindset. As we can see, the situation regarding this conflict is changing continuously."

He also urged citizens to stay prepared for potential challenges ahead, cautioning that the repercussions of the conflict might be prolonged.

"There is a substantial likelihood that the adverse effects of this war may endure for an extended period. Nevertheless, I wish to reassure the citizens — the government is vigilant, attentive, and diligently devising strategies while making every decision. The welfare of the populace is our utmost priority. This is our essence; this is our strength," he concluded.
