Two Notorious Maoist Operatives Apprehended in Bihar

Patna, Dec 21 (NationPress) Two notorious Maoist operatives, who had been evading law enforcement for the past 12 years, were captured on Saturday in Bodh Gaya, Bihar, as reported by the police.

The individuals taken into custody have been named as Kaushal Yadav and Aditya Bhuiyan, also known as Kundan.

As stated by Ashish Bharti, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) in Gaya, both suspects are connected to numerous criminal offenses across Gaya and neighboring districts.

Kaushal Yadav, who is also referred to as Krishna Yadav, is wanted in seven different cases, including the murders of three individuals in 2013.

In 2013, Kaushal Yadav and his associates assaulted MCC (Maoist Communist Centre) operative Sanjay Yadav and his two associates while they were returning from the village of Ankola.

They successfully executed the murders of their intended targets and stole their weapons. This case gained significant attention, as 10 other suspects had already been apprehended, leaving Kaushal Yadav as a primary fugitive.

Aditya Bhuiyan, known as Kundan, has over six criminal cases registered against him.

“We had received actionable intelligence concerning the fugitives’ movement in the Bodh Gaya area. A specialized team was deployed, resulting in the successful capture of both suspects,” Bharti noted.

The apprehension of these two Maoist operatives not only addresses unresolved cases but also highlights the police’s dedication to capturing individuals who have eluded justice for extended periods.

Kaushal Yadav is from Devaniya village, located under the jurisdiction of the Dhangai police station in Gaya district. He has been implicated in seven criminal cases, including the 2013 assault on MCC operative Sanjay Yadav.

Aditya Bhuiyan, alias Kundan, was involved in a 2012 incident near Baghpur forest, under the jurisdiction of the Dumaria police station. In that incident, he and his associates attacked a police squad, stealing their belongings and weapons.

Several policemen sustained injuries during that assault. In addition to this case, he is linked to over six other incidents.

“Both Kaushal Yadav and Aditya Bhuiyan played significant roles in various violent incidents spanning over a decade. Their extensive criminal histories are well-documented. Their capture was made possible through actionable intelligence and a well-coordinated raid in the Bodh Gaya area,” Bharti stated.
