Israeli Airstrikes Result in 23 Palestinian Fatalities Across Gaza

Gaza, Dec 23 (NationPress) Reports from the Palestinian official news agency WAFA indicate that 23 Palestinians lost their lives due to Israeli airstrikes throughout the Gaza Strip.
Among the deceased, at least nine individuals, including three children and two women, were killed, with several others sustaining injuries following the Israeli bombing of the Musa bin Nusayr School on Sunday, which serves as a shelter for displaced individuals in the Al-Daraj neighborhood of Gaza City, as reported by the Xinhua news agency citing WAFA.
Additionally, four more fatalities occurred when the Israeli military targeted a vehicle on Al-Jalaa Street in Gaza City.
On Sunday morning, a further five citizens, including four children, were reported killed during Israeli shelling in Jabalia town, located north of Gaza City, according to another WAFA report.
In the southern region of the Gaza Strip, two individuals were killed when the Israeli army bombed their apartment west of Khan Yunis, while three others died during the bombing in the city of Rafah, as per WAFA's statement.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) clarified in a statement on Sunday that following intelligence guidance, their air force executed a “precise strike” aimed at Hamas militants operating within a command-and-control center in the Gaza Strip.
This command-and-control center, previously part of the Musa bin Nusayr School, was reportedly utilized by militants to strategize and perform attacks against IDF forces and the State of Israel.
Israel has been conducting extensive operations against Hamas in the Gaza Strip in retaliation for a Hamas assault on the southern Israeli border on October 7, 2023, which resulted in approximately 1,200 fatalities and around 250 hostages.
According to a statement by Gaza-based health authorities on Saturday, the Palestinian death toll from the ongoing Israeli attacks on the Gaza Strip has reached 45,227.
