Munger Superintendent of Police Sayyad Imran Masood reported that law enforcement responded promptly to the disturbance.
“Upon receiving the alert, the Sadar SDPO, accompanied by personnel from multiple police stations, swiftly arrived at the scene to restore order,” stated Masood.
As per police reports, members from both communities engaged in stone-pelting during the dispute and even discharged several rounds of gunfire.
“Authorities have arrested twenty-two individuals from both factions, and a formal complaint has been lodged at the Safiasarai police station,” Masood added.
The injured party, who suffered a leg injury, was promptly taken to Sadar Hospital for medical attention.
A substantial police presence has been established in the village to mitigate any potential escalation of conflict.
“Currently, the situation is stable, and investigations are ongoing,” the Superintendent of Police noted.
In a separate incident earlier, one individual was apprehended in Jogbani town, Araria district, for allegedly posting inflammatory content about Prophet Mohammad on Instagram, which incited unrest.
This controversy led to attempts by certain groups to enforce market closures on Friday, requiring a robust police response.
Following a complaint by Zishan Khan, a local resident, law enforcement verified the post and detained Aryan Shah.
An FIR has been filed under relevant sections of the BNS Act and IT Act at the Jogbani police station.
Authorities have assured that stability is maintained, and additional forces are dispatched to sensitive locales to avert any escalation of communal strife.
As the Bihar Assembly elections approach, these episodes of communal discord present a significant challenge for the Bihar Police in their efforts to uphold peace across the state.
