Sheopur (Madhya Pradesh), Oct 12 (NationPress) – Sheopur celebrated a remarkable moment of empowerment as Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav delivered a ‘Diwali gift’ to over one crore women under the Ladli Behana Scheme.

During a momentous event in the district, CM Yadav executed a direct transfer of Rs 1,541 crore into the accounts of nearly 1.27 crore sisters with just one click, marking the 29th installment of this significant welfare initiative.

In his address to the audience, CM Yadav revealed a substantial increase in monthly aid, announcing that from Bhai Dooj onward, Ladli sisters will receive Rs 1,500 every month.

He also pledged to eventually raise this amount to Rs 3,000 by 2028, emphasizing the government’s commitment to fostering economic dignity for women throughout the state. While the current transfer stands at Rs 1,250 per beneficiary, the Chief Minister assured that the government is well-prepared to sustain the scheme and that the increase will be rolled out in phases.

Referencing a recent survey, he noted the scheme’s positive outcomes, stating that wherever the Ladli Behana Scheme has been implemented, it has ushered in happiness and prosperity to many households.

Alongside the financial assistance, CM Yadav inaugurated and laid the groundwork for development projects totaling Rs 550 crore in the Sheopur district, highlighting a broader commitment to regional advancement and infrastructure improvement.

The Ladli Behana Scheme, designed to empower women with direct financial aid, has become a cornerstone of the state’s welfare strategy.

Initially providing Rs 1,000 during the election period, the scheme was updated to Rs 1,250 last year, with assurances of future increments.

CM Yadav reiterated that this initiative is not merely a financial program but a mission to uphold the dignity and economic independence of mothers and sisters.

The Ladli Behana Scheme is part of Madhya Pradesh’s overarching strategy for women’s welfare and financial inclusion. By providing monthly assistance, the program aims to lower economic dependency and encourage self-reliance among women, particularly in rural and marginalized communities.
