Punjab BJP Chief Claims Rahul Gandhi's Visit Highlights Congress's Diminished Authority
Synopsis
Key Takeaways
Chandigarh, Feb 28 (NationPress) The President of Punjab BJP, Sunil Jakhar, remarked on Saturday that the fact that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had to visit the state to publicly scold his own party officials is indicative of the diminishing power of the Congress high command and the disarray within the state leadership. In a message shared on social media, Jakhar stated: “No matter how significant you are, be a team player; otherwise, Kharge-ji and I will ensure you get back on track.”
Jakhar articulated that this statement encapsulated the essence of the Congress rally that took place in Barnala. He asserted that there was no agenda pertaining to Punjab nor any discourse concerning farmers or laborers. Instead, he described it as a futile endeavor by an ineffective Congress high command, through Rahul Gandhi, to publicly chastise and attempt to unify the fragmented state leadership by issuing a warning.
“In this process, Rahul Gandhi not only made the state leadership a subject of public mockery but also revealed his own lack of leadership prowess,” Jakhar commented.
He mentioned that what could have been a private discussion within the party had to be transformed into a public rally where Congress leaders were lectured. This scenario, he pointed out, has emerged because the Congress high command has lost grip over its state factions.
In a separate meeting, members of the Sheller Association expressed their gratitude to BJP chief Jakhar for addressing the matter of fortified rice with Union Food Supply Minister Prahlad Joshi and the association.
During this event, Jakhar emphasized that the government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi is dedicated to addressing the concerns of farmers and other stakeholders in the agricultural sector. He noted that the fulfillment of the primary demand of the sheller industry would directly benefit farmers, given that the industry processes the rice they produce.
He also added that the requests from ‘arhtiyas’ (commission agents) have been communicated to the Central government, expressing optimism that these matters would be resolved effectively in the near future.
