Google Investigates Partnerships for AI-Driven Projects in Himachal Pradesh

Shimla, Dec 10 (NationPress) Google India is investigating potential partnerships focused on AI-driven projects designed to enhance public services in Himachal Pradesh.
In a meeting with Chief Minister Sukhvinder Sukhu at his official residence, Oak Over, Google’s head, Ashish Wattal, discussed ways to incorporate technology into sectors such as digital agriculture, healthcare, education, and public grievance resolution.
The Chief Minister reiterated the state government's dedication to utilizing artificial intelligence (AI) and cutting-edge technology for the public good. He recognized Google’s vast expertise in these fields and encouraged the company to consider investing in the information technology (IT) sector within the state, emphasizing the favorable investment climate.
He elaborated that the government aims to create a “people empowerment platform” in partnership with Google through the Labour and Employment Department. This platform would facilitate connections between citizens and skilled service providers like plumbers, electricians, and carpenters, ensuring convenience while generating job opportunities for the youth in the unorganized sector.
The Chief Minister also mentioned plans to enhance the Mukhyamantri Seva Sankalp Helpline -- 1100, by incorporating generative AI to improve grievance redressal.
The objective of this initiative is to deliver quicker and more effective solutions while ensuring customer satisfaction.
In the field of education, AI-based teaching modules are set to be piloted in two government senior secondary schools within the state to boost learning outcomes and modernize teaching approaches.
He noted that advanced technology has the capability to transform agriculture and enhance disaster preparedness. Precise weather forecasting could help mitigate loss of life and property by enabling timely planning and response from local authorities.
Present at the meeting were MLA Chander Shekhar, Principal Advisor (Media) to the Chief Minister Naresh Chauhan, Secretary (Education) Rakesh Kanwar, and senior representatives from Google India, including Kshitij Uppal and Rajeev Gupta.
