Hyderabad: Police Commissioner Clarifies No Delay in Action Against Mohan Babu

Hyderabad, Dec 16 (NationPress) Rachakonda Police Commissioner Sudheer Babu clarified on Monday that there was absolutely no delay in addressing the issues involving veteran actor Mohan Babu concerning the cases filed against him.
The Commissioner informed the media that the police are committed to following the directives of the High Court, which has mandated Mohan Babu to present himself before the police by December 24.
In the event that Mohan Babu does not respond by the deadline, the police will issue a new notice.
Mohan Babu was hospitalized on the night of December 10 due to high blood pressure and anxiety triggered by an incident at his residence in Jalpally, where his son Manchu Manoj forcibly opened the gate after being denied entry by security personnel.
On December 11, Rachakonda Commissioner, who also serves as the Additional District Collector, summoned Mohan Babu along with his sons Manchu Vishnu and Manchu Manoj for a hearing related to the charges against them.
The charges against Mohan Babu and his sons include violations under BNS sections 329 (4) (criminal trespass and house trespass) and 115 (2) (voluntarily causing hurt) r/w 3 (5).
The veteran actor sought exemption from appearing before the Police Commissioner through the High Court. His sons attended the meeting separately, where they assured the Commissioner of their cooperation to prevent further escalation.
The Commissioner indicated that a total of three cases have been initiated concerning the family dispute involving Mohan Babu, and investigations are currently ongoing for all three.
He also clarified that the renowned actor does not possess any gun license within the jurisdiction of the Rachakonda Commissionerate. “We have received information indicating that Mohan Babu is in possession of two firearms. In the notices served to him, we requested that he deposit the weapons at a secure location,” he stated.
The esteemed actor, who previously served as a Member of Parliament, has also been charged with attempted murder after he assaulted a TV reporter during the altercation at his home on December 10.
Last week, Mohan Babu filed for anticipatory bail in relation to the attempted murder allegations. The High Court has postponed the hearing on the anticipatory bail request until December 19.
The FIR was lodged following a complaint from M. Satyanarayana, a reporter for the Telangana news channel TV9.
The altercation occurred when the reporter visited Mohan Babu’s residence in Jalpally to cover the ongoing family dispute involving him and his son Manchu Manoj.
The veteran actor has since apologized to the injured journalist and the TV channel, visiting the hospital on Sunday to express his regrets to the reporter and his family.
