New Delhi, Jan 14 (NationPress) During a meeting with Sun Haiyan, the Vice Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (IDCPC), Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri emphasized the necessity for constructive actions to foster a conducive atmosphere for enhancing bilateral relations between India and China. This meeting took place amid Sun's visit to India from January 12-14.

The discussions focused on the advancements made in stabilizing and revitalizing bilateral relations, prioritizing business and people-centric initiatives, and strategies to advance engagement in the new year. The Chinese representatives extended their congratulations to India for taking over the BRICS chairmanship this year and expressed strong backing for a successful BRICS Summit in India, as indicated by a statement from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) following the meeting.
