Kejriwal's Ambedkar Scholarship: A Rebranded Initiative, Claims Delhi BJP Chief

New Delhi, Dec 21 (NationPress) Delhi BJP President Virendra Sachdeva stated on Saturday that Arvind Kejriwal's declaration of the Dr. Ambedkar Samman Scholarship aimed at Dalit students who wish to pursue education abroad is simply a rebranded version of a previous scheme.
Sachdeva highlighted that Kejriwal had previously launched a scholarship initiative for higher education for Scheduled Caste students prior to the 2020 elections, which has since seen little progress. He noted that Kejriwal has now revived this initiative under a different name.
He challenged Kejriwal to justify why, under the 2020 initiative, only Rs 25 lakh in scholarships had been allocated thus far, while the government purportedly expended crores on marketing the scheme in 2020-21.
Delhi BJP leader Harish Khurana has also requested clarification regarding student scholarships through a post on X.
Previously, BJP MP and former Delhi BJP President Manoj Tiwari accused AAP leaders Kejriwal and Sanjay Singh of undermining the Purvanchal community, questioning their social identity.
He claimed that AAP's sudden show of regard for Purvanchalis is merely superficial.
The press conference, led by Media Chief Praveen Shankar Kapoor, also underscored Tiwari's efforts in bolstering the identity of the Purvanchal community in Delhi.
Kapoor stressed that Tiwari was instrumental in securing Chhath Puja as a public holiday in the city, thereby acknowledging the significance of this major festival for Purvanchal.
During the event, Tiwari challenged Kejriwal and Sanjay Singh to provide a definitive answer within 24 hours regarding the removal of votes from illegal Bangladeshi and Rohingya infiltrators in Delhi.
“We raised this issue in Parliament, advocating for the detention and deportation of illegal infiltrators to their respective countries without subjecting them to violence,” asserted the BJP MP.
