KTR Decries Home Minister’s Comments on Ambedkar as Shameful and Insensitive

Hyderabad, Dec 19 (NationPress) Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president K. T. Rama Rao has described the comments made by Union Home Minister Amit Shah regarding Dr B. R. Ambedkar as shameful.
Rama Rao expressed his views on ‘X’ on Thursday in response to the statements made by Home Minister Amit Shah in the Rajya Sabha during a discussion commemorating 75 years of the Constitution.
He stated, “The insensitive remarks of Home Minister Amit Shah regarding Bharat Ratna Babasaheb Ambedkar are shameful. Dr. Ambedkar will always be recognized as one of the most significant leaders and intellectuals who championed Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity. He will continue to be honored and revered by Indians for generations to come,” said Rama Rao.
“Regardless of the opinions of those in power, it is truly the will of the people that holds significance,” KTR, as he is commonly known, added.
Another BRS member, Krishank Manne, also strongly condemned the remarks made by the Union Home Minister.
“What Amit Shah and his ancestors fail to comprehend is that there exists an India that venerates Babasaheb Ambedkar as a deity,” Krishank asserted.
Meanwhile, Y. S. Sharmila, President of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), has denounced Amit Shah’s comments on Babasaheb Ambedkar. She expressed that these remarks reflect the arrogance of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
Sharmila characterized Amit Shah’s statements as a serious insult to the Indian Constitution. She posted on ‘X’ that the sentiments of Dalits, tribals, backward classes, and minorities were deeply wounded by these statements.
Sharmila accused Amit Shah’s remarks of being part of the Sangh Parivar’s efforts to undermine the Constitution drafted by Ambedkar and promote Manusmriti. “As the BJP adheres to Manusmriti, it continues to assault the Constitution. Each time it mocks the father of the Constitution, it becomes evident that the BJP lacks respect for our Constitution and our national flag,” she stated.
Sharmila has called for Amit Shah to resign from his position as Union Minister and to publicly apologize to the nation.
