Bhopal, March 12 (NationPress) The Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Mohan Yadav, announced on Thursday that the state is receiving comprehensive support from the Central Government in securing approvals for various initiatives.
This statement came following a series of strategic meetings with Union Ministers, including Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, and Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Paatil, where essential discussions regarding their respective departments were conducted.
During a dialogue with Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Yadav addressed the state's fiscal challenges, outlined achievements, and sought financial backing. He also discussed the necessary financial arrangements for projects related to Simhastha–2028 and other significant initiatives.
“In my meeting with Nirmala Sitharaman, we exchanged information about the targets and accomplishments under various schemes this fiscal year, along with requests for financial assistance for Ujjain’s Simhastha,” Yadav stated.
Additionally, during his engagement with Union Minister C.R. Paatil, they reviewed the advancements of two inter-state river linking projects in Madhya Pradesh: Ken-Betwa and Parvati-Kalisindh-Chambal (PKC), both of which have received Central approval.
“In-depth discussions were also conducted with C.R. Patil concerning projects and agreements with neighboring states like Gujarat and Maharashtra under the Narmada Valley irrigation schemes, as well as initiatives to enhance tap water supply through single-village schemes,” he added.
Regarding his meeting with Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Yadav conveyed that they deliberated on measures to boost farmers' income and fortify agriculture within Madhya Pradesh.
Several unresolved issues concerning agricultural procurement and rural development, particularly regarding mustard procurement, were also on the agenda.
Yadav highlighted that the Centre has greenlit the state’s proposal under the Bhavantar Payment Scheme for mustard procurement and instructed relevant departments to expedite the payment process.
During the meeting, Chouhan presented an approval letter to Yadav for the complete procurement of Tur (pigeon pea) in Madhya Pradesh.
The meeting also evaluated matters related to payments for mustard and soybean price discrepancies, additional goals for green gram and black gram under the Pulses Mission, and measures under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PM Crop Insurance Scheme), Soil Health and Fertility Programme, Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Rural), and Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana.
