Northeastern Chief Ministers Mourn the Loss of Former PM Dr. Manmohan Singh

Guwahati/Agartala, Dec 27 (NationPress) Chief Ministers from several northeastern states have expressed their profound sorrow over the passing of former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who left us on Thursday at the AIIMS in Delhi at the age of 92.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma took to X to share, "I have had the privilege of knowing Dr. Manmohan Singh ji since 1991, when he was first elected to the Rajya Sabha from Assam, a state he represented for 28 years."
He remarked, "Dr. Sahab exemplified humility and never succumbed to the allure of power."
"In all my engagements with him, his simplicity and decency blended with his intellectual brilliance always shone through. During his time as Prime Minister, I had the chance to discuss various matters concerning Assam with him, and he consistently offered us a patient ear while showcasing a strong commitment to social issues," the Assam Chief Minister stated.
Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha expressed his sorrow, stating: "I am deeply saddened by the loss of former PM of India and esteemed Congress leader Manmohan Singh Ji. His contributions to nation-building and shaping the economic framework of our country will always be cherished. May his soul find eternal peace!"
Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh also expressed his grief on X: "I am profoundly saddened by the passing of Dr. Manmohan Singh, former Prime Minister of India. He was a visionary leader whose dedication to the nation has left an everlasting impact. My sincere condolences to his family and loved ones during this time of sorrow. May his soul rest in eternal peace."
Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu shared, "It’s extremely saddening to hear about the demise of former Prime Minister and distinguished economist Dr. Manmohan Singh Ji. This is a significant loss for our nation."
