Kolkata, Dec 19 (NationPress) Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to lay the foundation stone and inaugurate national highway projects totaling approximately Rs 3,200 crore in Ranaghat, located in West Bengal’s Nadia district, this coming Saturday.
As per a statement from the Press Information Bureau (PIB) released on Friday, he will address the audience during this significant occasion.
The Prime Minister will launch the 66.7 km long four-laning of the Barajaguli - Krishnanagar Section of NH-34 in the Nadia District. Additionally, he will lay the cornerstone for the four-laning of the 17.6 km long Barasat-Barajaguli Section of NH-34 in the North 24 Parganas district.
These projects will act as a crucial link between Kolkata and Siliguri, significantly reducing travel time by about two hours, ensuring a smoother flow of traffic, lower vehicle operating costs, and enhanced connectivity between Kolkata and neighboring districts, as well as with adjacent countries.
According to the statement, “These projects will also spur economic growth in the region and foster tourism development throughout the area.”
Prime Minister Modi shared insights about the upcoming developments on social media on Friday.
He stated, “I am excited to be with the people of West Bengal tomorrow, December 20th. At around 11:15 AM, I will participate in a public program in Ranaghat, where projects amounting to Rs. 3,200 crore will be inaugurated or have their foundation stones laid.”
