Sonia Gandhi Expresses Heartfelt Tribute to Dr. Manmohan Singh

New Delhi, Dec 27 (NationPress) Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP) president Sonia Gandhi expressed her sorrow over the passing of former Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, deeming it a 'personal loss' and acknowledging him as her 'friend, philosopher, and guide'.
In her reflection on Dr. Manmohan Singh's values and principles, she highlighted his gentle demeanor juxtaposed with a steadfast commitment to his convictions, asserting that the Congress party will always be 'proud of and grateful' for his leadership.
Dr. Manmohan Singh passed away due to age-related health issues at Delhi’s All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) on Thursday night, at the age of 92.
In a heartfelt note, the Rajya Sabha MP remarked: 'For me, Dr. Manmohan Singh's death is a deeply personal loss. He was my friend, philosopher, and guide.
Any time spent with him was enlightening, filled with his profound knowledge, moved by his honesty and integrity, and inspired by his genuine humility.
She emphasized that Dr. Singh dedicated himself to serving the nation with ‘all his heart and mind’, maintaining a strong commitment to social justice, secularism, and democratic values throughout his life.
“With the passing of Dr. Manmohan Singh, we have lost a leader who embodied wisdom, nobility, and humility, and who devoted his heart and mind to our nation. A brilliant and cherished guiding light for the Congress party, his compassion and vision transformed and uplifted the lives of millions of Indians.”
She reiterated the significant contributions of Dr. Manmohan Singh to the nation's development and noted that his departure leaves a void in the national landscape that is irreplaceable.
“We in the Congress Party, along with the people of India, will forever cherish and appreciate the leadership of Dr. Manmohan Singh, whose contributions to India's advancement are beyond measure,” stated the former Congress president.
Additionally, expressing pride in his admirable character, Sonia remarked, “Respected and esteemed by leaders and scholars globally, he was recognized as a statesman of exceptional wisdom and stature. Dr. Manmohan Singh brought brilliance and distinction to every prestigious position he held, and he elevated India's honor and pride.”
