Patna, Aug 21 (NationPress) The Leader of Opposition in the Bihar Assembly, Tejashwi Yadav, intensified his criticism of the central government on Thursday, characterizing the three new legislative measures, which permit the removal of elected officials arrested on serious criminal charges and detained without bail for over 30 days, as “torture bills”.
He accused Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Andhra Pradesh CM Chandrababu Naidu of engaging in “blackmail politics” and prioritizing their personal gains over the nation’s advancement.
Tejashwi Yadav, who has been traveling to Sheikhpura, Sikandra, Jamui, and Munger as part of his ongoing Voter Adhikar Yatra, expressed that the campaign is receiving significant public backing.
“The reality of the BJP and the Election Commission is being unveiled to the populace through this yatra. The trust of ordinary citizens in democracy is being restored. They will teach the BJP a lesson in the forthcoming Bihar Assembly elections with their votes,” he stated during an interaction with journalists in Patna.
Critiquing the JD(U) leader and Bihar's Chief Minister, Tejashwi declared, “Individuals like Nitish Kumar and Chandrababu Naidu do not desire the nation’s progress. Their politics revolves solely around power and selfishness. They are skilled in blackmail and are intent on damaging the country.”
When questioned about the possibility of Nitish Kumar retaining his position as Bihar’s Chief Minister, he firmly dismissed the idea: “There is no possibility of Nitish Kumar becoming CM again. The people of Bihar have resolved to remove him. The state’s condition in terms of crime, migration, education, and law and order is evident to all.”
In response to Nitish Kumar’s participation in the minority dialogue after a prolonged absence, Tejashwi remarked, “The public has comprehended everything. Regardless of how much he communicates or makes announcements, it holds no value. The people have made their decision, and change is imminent.”
The Voter Adhikar Yatra will resume on Thursday after a day’s break from Sheikhpura, with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi also joining the Yatra from Sheikhpura.
