In a message shared on social media platform X during International Women's Day, FM Sitharaman underscored how programs like Jan Dhan accounts and the emergence of “Lakhpati Didis” are bolstering women’s financial strength and transforming households and communities throughout India.

“When women secure financial access, they secure independence. Currently, women possess over 28 crore Jan Dhan accounts, which facilitate financial services to households nationwide, enhancing their financial autonomy,” FM Sitharaman stated.
