Patna, July 31 (NationPress) A deeply unsettling event unfolded in the Janipur area of Patna, where two young children tragically lost their lives in a fire within their home, sparking significant political turmoil in Bihar.
Leader of Opposition (LoP) Tejashwi Yadav expressed his outrage, directing a fierce critique at Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and his administration regarding the alarming state of law and order.
"In Patna, criminals shielded by the government invaded a home and burnt alive two minor children of a nurse. The audacity of these criminals has reached such heights that no one feels safe anymore—whether at home, in workplaces, or even in hospitals," Tejashwi remarked.
"The Chief Minister appears to be oblivious, while the criminals remain ever-vigilant in Bihar," he further stated.
The victims, identified as Anjali Kumari and Ansh Kumar, aged 15 and 10, were discovered severely charred on their bed after a fire erupted in their locked room in Janipur on Thursday afternoon.
This incident has left the community in a state of shock and mourning.
Ejaz Ahmed, spokesperson for the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), also reacted strongly, labeling the tragedy a stain on humanity and indicative of the deteriorating security conditions in Bihar.
"Such a heart-wrenching occurrence brings shame to humanity and undermines human sensitivity," Ahmed stated.
"It showcases the unchecked boldness of criminals in Bihar. The administration is crumbling, while those in authority are preoccupied with their own interests. No condemnation can adequately express the horror of this crime," he added.
Ahmed called for the immediate apprehension of those accountable, urging for prompt and stringent action in this case.
Meanwhile, law enforcement has initiated a comprehensive investigation to ascertain the cause of the fire and the circumstances surrounding the children's tragic deaths.
The children's father, Lalan Gupta, who works at the Patna Election Commission office, has raised suspicions of foul play, asserting that his children were murdered in their residence.
He demands the most severe punishment for the offenders.
This incident has sparked widespread public outcry, with increasing calls for accountability and justice.
