Gaza, April 17 (NationPress) A minimum of 19 Palestinians lost their lives due to Israeli strikes across different regions of the Gaza Strip, as reported by Gaza's Civil Defence.

Civil Defence spokesperson Mahmoud Basal informed Xinhua on Wednesday that among those killed, 10 individuals, including children and women, were victims of an Israeli airstrike aimed at the residence of the Hassouna family in the al-Tuffah neighborhood, located to the northeast of Gaza City.

In the northern Gaza Strip's Jabalia area, Israeli forces claimed the lives of three individuals and injured several others, according to reports from Xinhua.

Additionally, five individuals, including a minimum of two children, were killed in Khan Younis, situated in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, due to Israeli drone strikes. A Palestinian man was also killed when an Israeli aircraft targeted a tent designated for food distribution to the displaced in the central city of Nuseirat, Basal stated.

Palestinian security sources have indicated that since the early hours of Wednesday, Israeli artillery has persistently shelled eastern districts of Gaza City, as well as the Beit Hanoun and Beit Lahia regions in the northern Gaza Strip.

Meanwhile, the Al-Qassam Brigades, the military faction of Hamas, issued a statement declaring that its members targeted three Israeli Merkava 4 tanks near Al-Wafa Hospital, located east of Gaza City.

The Israeli army has yet to comment on these assaults.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced on Wednesday that since the renewal of operations in the Gaza Strip on March 18, a total of 11 high-ranking officials from Hamas' political bureau have been killed.

According to their statement, nearly 1,200 terror targets have been struck from the air by 350 fighter jets and aircraft from the IAF. More than 100 targeted eliminations have been executed, leading to the neutralization of hundreds of terrorists and military leaders from terror groups within the Gaza Strip.

Gaza's health authorities reported on Wednesday that at least 25 individuals were killed and 89 others injured across Gaza in the previous 24 hours.

This latest statistic has raised the death toll since Israel resumed its offensive on Gaza to 1,652, and the total death toll since the onset of the conflict in October 2023 now stands at 51,025.
