New Delhi, Jan 16 (NationPress) The Mumbai Police detained three individuals associated with Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan's household on Thursday after he was assaulted at his home.
The trio was transported to the police station for questioning.
Saif Ali Khan was reportedly stabbed by an intruder who forcibly entered his residence in Mumbai around 4:00 a.m.. Currently, the actor is receiving medical attention at Mumbai's Lilavati Hospital. Authorities have initiated an investigation, and a First Information Report (FIR) has been filed against the intruder at Bandra Police Station.
According to the police, an intruder accessed Saif Ali Khan's home while he was resting with his family. A struggle ensued between the actor and the intruder when the latter attempted to break in, as confirmed by law enforcement. The intruder subsequently assaulted Saif Ali Khan six times before fleeing the scene.
The actor, along with his wife Kareena Kapoor and their sons, recently celebrated the New Year in Switzerland and returned to Mumbai last week.
Khan’s representatives released an official statement confirming that he is in the hospital for surgery and that there was an attempted burglary.
“There was an attempted burglary at Mr. Saif Ali Khan’s residence. He is currently in the hospital undergoing surgery. We kindly ask the media and fans for patience as this is a police matter,” stated the official message from the actor’s team.
A source revealed that Saif engaged in a physical confrontation with the thief, unarmed, in an effort to protect his family during the night. He bravely defended his family, sustaining injuries in the process while the intruder possessed a weapon.

Reports indicate that his wife, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and their children, Taimur and Jeh, are safe.
The DCP of the Bandra division confirmed the actor's injuries.
