Gurugram: 10 FIRs Filed Against 15 Vehicles for Illegal Waste Disposal, Rs 1.45 Lakh Fine Imposed on 12 Others

Gurugram, 19 Dec (NationPress) Disposing of waste and debris in public areas within the Municipal Corporation Gurugram (MCG) jurisdiction is a punishable offence, and the civic authority is actively enforcing regulations against violators.
In this context, the civic body is not only seizing vehicles but also filing FIRs against both the drivers and owners at the relevant police stations, alongside imposing hefty fines.
In the past two weeks, the Sanitation Security Force (SSF) has taken action against 27 vehicles. Among these, 10 FIRs have been registered against the owners and drivers of 15 vehicles across various police stations, with fines totaling Rs 1.45 lakh imposed on the remaining 12 vehicles.
On Thursday, a sense of urgency arose among those illegally disposing of waste when Additional Municipal Commissioner Dr Balpreet Singh personally intervened to enforce compliance.
Dr. Singh conducted inspections at several locations, apprehending five vehicles caught in the act of dumping waste or debris. While checking the area near Sikandarpur Metro Pillar No. 48, he discovered a tractor-trolley and two rickshaw carts actively dumping garbage.
He swiftly apprehended all three and filed an FIR against the tractor-trolley's owner and driver at the appropriate police station, as well as initiating the seizure of the vehicles.
Subsequently, he proceeded to the Sector 22 market area, where he caught two rickshaw-cart owners in the act of garbage disposal. He instructed the SSF members accompanying him to expedite their efforts, emphasizing that actions against illegal dumping should intensify, advocating for a zero-tolerance policy.
Dr. Singh stated, "The Sanitation Security Force has been established to effectively address the issue of waste and debris disposal in public areas such as roadsides, vacant lands, and green belts within the municipal region. The force's members are on continuous monitoring duty, operating 24/7 to ensure compliance."
