New Delhi, March 1 (NationPress) Former Union Minister and Congress MP Kumari Selja on Saturday criticized the BJP and the AAP for concealing the CAG report concerning financial management tied to Delhi’s excise policy.
"Both parties (BJP and AAP) have hidden the report. We have consistently stated that these two parties are essentially the same..." Selja informed IANS.
She expressed concerns regarding a possible covert agreement between the two. “We have consistently claimed that the parties are colluding and engaged in a theatrical display to mislead the public,” Selja remarked.
This accusation from the senior Congress leader aligns with similar concerns raised by Delhi Congress President Devender Yadav.
Yadav claimed that the BJP government's reluctance to engage in a thorough discussion in the Delhi Assembly regarding the CAG report on the liquor scandal and its unwillingness to present the other 13 CAG reports suggested collusion with the AAP.
He noted that the Delhi Congress had warned, prior to the current Delhi Assembly session, that AAP MLAs would disrupt proceedings to hinder the BJP government’s efforts to present the CAG reports.
Yadav asserted that the BJP's hesitance to discuss the CAG report on the liquor scandal implies that the BJP has also benefitted from the liquor cartel’s generosity.
This situation further highlights the BJP’s collusion with the AAP in avoiding the presentation of the remaining 13 CAG reports in the Assembly, he stated.
After the presentation of the CAG report on the liquor scandal on February 25, which revealed Rs 2,002 crore of corruption by the Arvind Kejriwal administration in executing the liquor policy, the new BJP government failed to submit the other 13 pending CAG reports in the Assembly on Thursday.
Yadav pointed out that it is widely recognized that the RSS has played a role in Kejriwal’s ascent in Delhi politics, thus the new BJP government is collaborating with the AAP to obscure the CAG reports from public examination.
He concluded by stating that the BJP government is deceiving the public with its theatrical engagement with the AAP and the suspension of the AAP MLAs from the Assembly.
